Do you have people in your life who always throw you off? Regardless of how pleased you are, or regardless of how content you feel, the moment you socialize with these individuals, your mood simply drops like a rock. Welcome to the club. The problem with poisonous people is not an issue at all. They are who they are. They made their beds, and you ought to permit them to sleep in them. We are all entitled to live the lives that we have picked.

But the issue is, when you specify them as harmful individuals, you trigger a domino effect in your mind that makes sure that their toxicity seeps into your mind. Unfavorable as they are, and no matter just how much distance you would like, some of it permeates in.

Why? Well, because of your choices. Unfavorable individuals are only negative since you made them unfavorable.

I understand that sounds insane because you most likely have a friend or an associate or a relative that you know complete well is a social cancer. This individual is just the worst of the worst. However believe me, your power of definition is more powerful than you provide it credit.

And a great deal of the times, you read this negativeness into that individual. And worst yet, you are permitting it to poison you also. Think me, there is no person in the world that is 100% negative. Everything boils down to perspective.

I don't wish to get all postmodern on you and I absolutely don't want this to be misunderstood or misconstrued as some sort of postmodern amoral philosophical discussion. It isn't. What I'm simply saying is that there are always two sides to a story.

And it may well turn out that the reason why these "harmful" people around you are slowly killing you is because you enable them to. You define things in such a way that they are toxic.

This is where it gets uncomfortable. Because if you were to change your decisions, if you were to alter your mindset and viewpoint, things will enhance.

However let's get real here. This takes work. It also takes maturity, and a single person has to be the adult. Who wishes to be that, right?

Part of what makes "cleansing" our relationships such a problem and such a trouble is since of the truth that we feel we can't do it. We feel that it's too much work. We feel that there is just excessive at threat. To put it simply, we're making a thousand and one reasons why we don't wish to do it.

Well, if you're ill and sick of making excuses, time to find your zen. The simple meditation practice, which takes less than 15 minutes each and every single day, can allow you to get the mental and willpower resources you require to detoxify any person you stumble upon.

Eventually, the social cancer that you feel adversely impacts you is an option. It is a definition. And for it to have any power, you have to buy into the meaning. Knowing how to deal with toxic individuals in life is a gift that will provide you back time, energy and assurance. You deserve it!

Self Care

I am a bit obsessed with my animals. And I make sure if you had a canine and a bunny, you 'd be consumed with them too. Abby (pet dog) and Niblet (bunny) are well-behaved, very social and have a lot of personality. Abby is extremely popular in the area and the other dogs consider her a celebrity. Numerous animal parents (or any moms and dad) hate leaving their kids when it is time to go to work and I was among them. Lots of mornings I would think, I just want to be a remain at home pet parent.

I have actually been fortunate to work with a lot of excellent people, however cubicle life didn't seem to fit me any longer. I felt the work I was doing might be done from a home. I would take a trip and feel refreshed for a couple of days and then burnout would come back. In the back of my mind I constantly thought how good it would be to be my own employer. Being able to periodically come home for lunch and stroll my dog kept me going on bad days.
It became harder and harder to return to the workplace.

Abby did a fantastic task of making me feel guilty whenever I would leave, whether it was in the morning or throughout a lunch see. I knew one day I would find the ideal situation to make a change, I just didn't understand how quickly. The corporate mentality of being a number on a spreadsheet and a body to fill a job was getting old. Doing the work of 3 individuals sufficed to make me turn in my resignation.

As soon as that letter was sent, I felt completely elated. I started counting down the days up until I was complimentary. Every early morning I thought, I won't have to leave home to go to work every early morning really quickly. Just 5 more days, 4 more days, 3 more days, etc

. During my last week, I started to put my office together. Among the most crucial pieces was a canine bed. The only obstacle I'm finding today is that Abby wants to sit on my lap as I'm healthy living working. I enable it often, how could I not.

It was a difficult shift to make, however I have absolutely no remorses. The happiness and freedom I feel outweighs any fear and working in my office where my furry children run around is my kind of job!
